Why is alkaline water so hype?

The alkaline water\’s pH level is referred to as the “alkaline”. A number that measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is is the pH level.

Something with a pH of 1 would be acidic, and something with a pH of 13 would be alkaline.

Alkaline water has a higher pH level than regular drinking water. Because of this, some advocates of alkaline water believe it can neutralize the acid in your body.

Researchers in Japan conducted a small 2018 study that suggested that drinking alkaline electrolyzed water slightly improved stool in 60 participants.

A 2016 study that included 100 people found a significant difference in whole blood viscosity after consuming high-pH water compared to regular water after a strenuous workout. Viscosity is the direct measurement of how efficiently blood flows through the vessels.

The people who drank high pH water had a lower viscosity than the people who drank standard drinking water. The blood flowed better with alkaline water. This can increase the amount of oxygen in the body.

More research is needed. Research is needed to answer claims made by alkaline water supporters.

Proponents of alkaline water still believe in its health benefits despite the lack of scientific research. These include:

The water is safe. There is no evidence that shows negative side effects.

Many people who drink alkaline water buy it through a chemical process called electrolysis.

You can also make your own at home. Adding pH drops or baking soda is another way to make water more alkaline.

There is no evidence to suggest that the amount of alkaline water consumed daily is not enough if the water is properly screened.
